Biography
Eugenia Mello is an illustrator, graphic designer, and Art Director from Buenos Aires, Argentina now based in Brooklyn, New York. She studied Graphic Design at the University of Buenos Aires, where she also taught Design and Typography, and holds an MFA in Illustration as Visual Essay from the School of Visual Arts. Her work as an illustrator has been recognized by the Society of Illustrators, American Illustration, and The Art Director’s Club of New York among many others. She is the illustrator of the picture book Jazz For Lunch by Jarrett Dapier and author-illustrator of Moving, inspired by her own nomadic childhood. For the past 4 years, parallel to her illustration practice, she has worked alongside Claudia Bedrick and the mighty Enchanted Lion team as a designer and later Art Director, helping bring to life beautifully illustrated stories in the shape of breathtaking books. She is now a professor in the Illustration department at the School of Visual Arts.
