He has published countless books and has written frequently for The New York Times Books Times Book Review and has been a radio and television commentator. He is founder of The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art and managing editor of Astra House Books, where he publishes picture books and poetry collections for young readers around the world. Leonard lives in Brooklyn, New York.
