Saioa Aginako Lamarain is a Basque illustrator born in Vitoria-Gasteiz. Graduated in psychology, she has studied illustration at the Escola Massana in Barcelona and ISIA in Urbino, Italy, at the Higher Institute of Artistic Industry. Her work, deeply inspired by the natural environment — from the observation of the forest and the smallest details to the chromatic richness of water — proposes visual narratives that combine detailed images with emotional sensitivity. Her work is inspired by her childhood, folklore and the simplicity of everyday life. In the fall of 2025, she published her first book "L'asinello di Santa Lucia" with Corraini Edizioni and is currently working on other editorial projects as an illustrator. In 2025 her series "Everything start with the corn" won special mention at Iberoamerica Ilustra, in 2026 her work won a jury mention in SOI and 2025 and 2026 her work was longlisted in the BCBF at Illustrator Exhibition.
